Sarah Palin Credits Matt Drudge (Drudge's 1998 National Press Club Appearance Included)

Last Friday night former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was the headline speaker at the RightOnline conference that was held in Las Vegas. During that speech she gave credit to Matt Drudge, creator of the Drudge Report, for being the original "citizen journalist." The person that broke the story of the "blue dress" in the Clinton/Lewinsky debacle was Matt Drudge. It is the story that put the Drudge Report on the map.

Governor Palin's mention of Matt Drudge is in the short clip below. If you'd like to view her entire speech from the RightOnline conference, you may do so HERE. Drudge's appearance at the National Press Club from 1998, which Governor Palin references in her speech, is also below.

June 2, 1998 - Matt Drudge appears before the National Press Club. The first 14 minutes of this video are of Matt delivering his speech. The remainder of the video is the Q & A session.

Want more Drudge? This is from November of 2007. No, he doesn't sit down for many interviews, darnit.
